Live by Night is an upcoming American crime film written, directed and co-produced by Ben Affleck, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Dennis Lehane. The film stars Affleck, Elle Fanning, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Chris Cooper.
Warner Bros. acquired the rights to Dennis Lehane's Live by Night in April 2012 with the intention of developing the project as a starring vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio through his Appian Way Productions.In October 2012, it was announced that Ben Affleck would direct, write and star in the project; he and Jennifer Todd would produce through their Pearl Street Films, along with Appian Way's DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran. In May 2014, Lehane said he had "seen Affleck's script, a very good script, but it’s up to what Ben’s schedule allows. He’s out playing Batman right now, so we’ll see what happens."
In the summer of 2013, Affleck and film crew members visited Tampa, Florida and Lawrence, Massachusetts to scout locations. In August 2013, it was reported that production would be pushed back from the fall of 2013 to the fall of 2014, due to Affleck's acting commitments in Gone Girl (2014) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). He visited various locations in Brunswick, Georgia in the summer of 2014.Affleck stated in a September 2014 interview that the film had been green-lit: "It’s supposed to start shooting in July [2015] and I’ll start prepping in March. We got a budget, we got locations." On September 4, 2014, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Elle Fanning joined the cast of the film. Affleck visited Brunswick, Georgia again in February 2015.
On July 9, 2015, Warner Brothers' decision to green-lit the film was officially announced.Miller, Saldana and Fanning were all still attached to the project.From August to December 2015, other cast members were gradually revealed, including Chris Messina,Chris Cooper,Miguel, Max Casella,Scott Eastwood, Brendan Gleeson, Anthony Michael Hall and Titus Welliver.
Principal photography began on October 28, 2015 in coastal Georgia.Exterior scenes were filmed in Brunswick, at Affleck's private property on Hampton Island near Riceboro, on Tybee Island, in Savannah and at Fort Pulaski National Monument. Tampa's film commissioner said tax rebates in Georgia and Affleck's home on Hampton Island, a 45 minute drive from Brunswick, had led the filmmakers to choose the state instead of Florida.[32] Filming took place in Lawrence, North Andover, and Boston's North End. From December 2015 to February 2016, filming took place in Los Angeles, California. Scenes were shot at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, in Pasadena, and in Wilmington.
Cinematographer Robert Richardson used both the Arri Alexa 65mm and vintage 65 lenses from Panavision.
Bad Santa 2 is an upcoming American Christmas black comedy crime film directed by Mark Waters and written by Shauna Cross and Johnny Rosenthal. A sequel to the 2003 film Bad Santa, the film stars Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox, Brett Kelly, Kathy Batesand Christina Hendricks.
Principal photography began on January 11, 2016 in Montreal. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 23, 2016 by Broad Green Pictures.
In 2009, Billy Bob Thornton first mentioned the sequel to the 2003 crime comedy film Bad Santa, with an aim for release at Christmas 2011. On December 16, 2010, it was announced that Miramax and The Weinstein Company had signed on an agreement to develop sequels including Bad Santa's.On March 18, 2011, TheWrap reported that Weinstein confirmed the sequel and negotiations had begun with Thornton to return for the lead role. On July 14, 2011, Los Angeles Times confirmed that Dimension Films and other producers on the film including Geyer Kosinski hired two writers Johnny Rosenthal and John Phillips to work on the screenplay for the sequel. The sequel had been scheduled to begin shooting in the fall 2012 for December 2013 release. On July 30, 2012, it was reported that Steve Pink was in early talks with the studio to rewrite and direct the film. On May 30, 2013, it was revealed that Miramax has hired Entourage creator Doug Ellin to rewrite the script and to possibly direct the sequel.
In October 2014, Thornton confirmed that the sequel was in development and he admitted that it would not be as good as the first one but hoped it would be close and still please fans of the original.On October 29, 2015, it was confirmed that Thornton would return for Bad Santa 2 to play Willie, and that filming would begin in Montreal in January 2016 for a scheduled release of Christmas 2016. Miramax and Broad Green Pictures will both co-finance the film, with Broad Green also distributing the film in the United States and Sierra/Affinity handling the international sales for the film. On November 3, 2015, it was announced that Mean Girls director Mark Waters would direct the film from a script by Rosenthal, Ellin, and Shauna Cross, while Brett Kelly and Tony Cox from the first film also signed on to return. On November 19, 2015, it was announced that Kathy Bates would join the cast as Willie's foul-mouthed mother, while Andrew Gunn would also produce the film along with Kosinski. On January 6, 2016, Christina Hendricks joined the cast to run a charitable organization in the film. On January 11, 2016, more cast was added to the film including Ryan Hansen, Jenny Zigrino, and Jeff Skowron.
Principal photography on the film began on January 11, 2016 in Montreal, Québec, Canada.Filming took place on locations including Saint Catherine Street and Saint-Alexandre.

On August 27, 2014, Lakeshore Entertainment announced their plans to develop a reboot of the Underworld franchise, with Cory Goodman hired to write the script for the first film. Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi were named as producers. The film was later confirmed to be a fifth entry in the series, rather than a reboot. There was a clearance issue by Archaeological Survey of India for shooting at Ahmedabad at the ancient mosque and tomb complex, Sarkhej Roza.Some scenes were also shot in Mumbai. In March 2016, a legal notice has been sent by an alleged gangster Abdul Latif's son, Mustak, asking how or why a film on his father's life is being made.
