Raees is an upcoming 2017 Indian action thriller film directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Gauri Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banners Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan. Sunny Leone has been roped in for a special song in the film.Raees is scheduled to be released on 26 January 2017.
The storyline revolves around the hindrances overcome by the illustrious King Khan, who is playing the character of a cruel and clever bootlegger in this unreleased film. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a strict and brilliant cop (commissioner of police) hampers the brutal conspiracies of Raees with his unique style of operational work. All the scenes are from the well flourished Indian state, Gujarat. The incidents demonstrated by this utmost release are of 1980’s era. Along with the smart operations of the versatile artists, the film criticizes the prohibition of alcohol, prostitution and illegal drugs in Gujarat.

Shooting of the film began in April 2015. The film has been shot in Mumbai and sets were re-designed to depict Ahmedabad slums. The last schedule of the film with Khan and the whole starcast was shot in Gujarat in January 2016. The film was shot in Bhuj and Ahmedabad in January – February 2016. There was a clearance issue by Archaeological Survey of India for shooting at Ahmedabad at the ancient mosque and tomb complex, Sarkhej Roza.Some scenes were also shot in Mumbai. In March 2016, a legal notice has been sent by an alleged gangster Abdul Latif's son, Mustak, asking how or why a film on his father's life is being made.
Most per-fervid theatrical trailer of Raees has been launched by the filmmakers. King Khan starred teaser starts with a scene in which number of bottles are scattered on the ground and dialogue ‘Maa, Koi Dhandha Chhota Nahi Hota Aur Dhandhe Bada Koi Dharma Nahi. Yahi Hai Mera Majhab’, said by the superstar is heard. The sequential scene introduces a stylish entry of King Khan in white dress, holding a black coloured rod in his right hand and walking in rowdy style. The terminating scenario has numerous people rallying the actor with bulk merrymakings and celebrate the unknown fact which will be disclosed on the unleashing of complete movie on the behalf of hallow carnival Ramadan Eid in 2016.
Movies release date is changed to 26th Jan 2017, first movie were scheduled to release in 2016 but sultan movie were clashing on same date. Now movie is scheduled to release in early 2017.
